Not only that, it would be more better if OTML offer scholarships for students to study in both undergraduate and postgraduate level in country and overseas. The sponsorship must focus on supporting the16 SDGs as these are crucial steps for such industries to contribute aligning with global movement whether it be climate change, socioeconomic, research and technological innovations and development, respectively. Further, allocate funding and grants to boost research, and support academics and university students in the Papua New Guinea. This is the one of the most productive and strategic approach all mining and oil industries in the PNG must tap into and assist. A graduate development program (GDP) is not enough, allocate scholarships and grants to build research and, most importantly, human integral development.#climatechange #miningindustry #sponsorship #OapuaNewGuinea #OTML #sustainabledevelopment #engineering #technology #research #publication #universities #sdgs2030 #greenenergy #renewableenergy #education #oilandgasindustry #portmoresby #upng #unitech #pau #unreal #uog #dwu #wpu #nationalresearchinstitute

Semester Wrap-Up: Highlights and Lessons LearnedAs I close the book on another semester, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions , relief, accomplishment, and peace of mind. The past few months has been filled with challenges and unforgettable moments. From late night study sessions to moments where I was down emotionally couple with the fact that my mental health was dealt with seriously. One of my biggest highlights was overcoming a challenging course that seemed tough at first. If your studying chemical engineering, am sure you've come across a course known as "Process optimization". This course in particular pushed me to my limit. But thanks to collaborative study with my colleagues. And yes let me give a shout out to Godwin Umoren and John eka. You guys came through for me as an understanding boyfriend will come through for his girlfriend 😅.Another significant milestone was being awarded the third prize winner in NESTAC competition in Nigeria. The journey was tough, but am glad I scaled through.Okay lesson learnt?🤔I learnt that with perseverance, determination , teamwork, even the toughest obstacle can be overcome.I also learnt that even in the toughest moment, there's room for growth and improvement.I'm grateful for the lessons learnt, memories made and the friends who became family.PS: I decided to take a picture after my last paper yesterday. You see can the stress on my face.

🌟 Reflecting on an enriching experience at the "Sustainable Mining: Is it Realistic?" Collaborative Conference 🌍✨I had the privilege of attending the "Sustainable Mining: Is it Realistic?" Collaborative Conference organized by the Raw Materials and Environmental Engineering Faculty of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) , supported by the Australia Mongolia Extractives Program (AMEP) and the Research and Innovation Center of the GMIT. Held both online and offline at the GMIT campus in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on March 16, 2024, this conference was a testament to the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in advancing sustainable practices in the extractive sector. The conference brought together a diverse community of current and future professionals, including GMIT students, professors, instructors, and esteemed international experts. Through insightful discussions and engaging sessions, we delved into the complexities of sustainability in mining, exploring environmental, social, economic, and technological dimensions. It was inspiring to witness firsthand the dedication of individuals committed to fostering innovation and responsible resource management. As a graduate of GMIT (Class of 2019) now enrolled in the master's program, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with my alma mater and contribute to meaningful conversations about the future of the extractive sector. The conference not only expanded my knowledge but also provided a platform for networking and collaboration on a global scale.I encourage all students and young professionals passionate about sustainable development and resource management to seize opportunities like this conference to learn, grow, and make a difference. Together, we can drive positive change and shape a more sustainable future for generations to come.📚🌱 #SustainableMining #GMIT #AMEP #ResourceManagement #Collaboration #Sustainability #MiningIndustry #GlobalImpact

An enriching experience to have developed the first introduction to mine rescue training package at Kamoto Copper Mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the Underground Mine Rescue team in 2014. This was when we first adopted the team motto: "Iko paka tayari" which means "Always Ready" in Swahili.
