Tyl Regor was conducting tests on Tan-228.
After the fiasco with the bowl the day before he’d decided he needed to know more about the girl he’d created.
It took an entire night worth of testing but so far he had discovered that Tan-228 was capable of many extraordinary things.
Her digestive system was capable of obtaining nutrients out of almost anything and she had an incredible bite force, over 4,200 psi.
He also discovered both her bone and muscle density was growing bit by bit each day which meant in time she could become stronger than even the most augmented grineer.
However there was one issue he’d found.
While she was physically growing, her mental fitness was severely underdeveloped.
In simple terms she couldn’t learn anything, onlymimicit.
As he looked at the scans of her brain he was confused. Her brain was fully grown and yet she struggled with all the mental tests.
”If she’d been taking the usual tests the soldiers take she’d be turned into a scorpion without a second thought.”Regor thought worriedly.
It made no sense! It’s as if something was keeping her from thinking, but what?!
Regor took a deep breath.
As he looked over to Tan, sat on a steel table nearby, he gained a saddened look.
Perhaps this project was doomed from the start.
”Snap out of it Regor! This is NOT a failure! It’s just a step backwards. I’ll find a way.”Regor admonished himself.
He turned towards the girl and spoke “Tan? Would you care for-“
He was interrupted as alarms started ringing.
Regor immediately turned on his transmitter.
”What’s happening?!” he shouted into it.
”Sir! Four Tenno have breached the facility! We are under attAUGH-!” was all he heard before it cut off.
Without missing a beat, he tuned into the PA system.
”I don’t know why your here Tenno but leave now!” he shouted, his voice ringing out through the whole facility.
He quickly ran to his terminal and desperatley tried to contact the Lotus to no avail.
”Dammit Lotus! We had a deal!” he yelled in rage!
He switched over to the camera feeds to see what was happening.
He scowled at what he saw. Four Tenno were wreaking havoc on both his soldiers and his cloning vats, destroying both as they sped through the facility towards his lab.
“Focus Regor dammit! I need to find out what they’re capable of. Observe, plan, execute!”
Looking through the feeds he watched to see what powers and weapons the attackers had.
One warframe was slicing through his men with some sort of energy blade, dashing from one to the other while cutting them in half.
Another was summoning large swathes of ice, freezing entire groups solid before reducing them to rubble with a large glacial hammer.
The third, wielding a sniper, was summoning flowers? Looking closer, it seemed that when other Tenno moved near them they were enhanced. A support then.
The last was leading the charge as a walking battering ram. The large bronze warframe not slowing their assault no matter how much they were shot at, while also returning fire with a large machine gun. Occasionally they would stomp so hard that his men were left hanging in the air.
“Those Tenno think they can kill me, do they?! Destroy my facility?! I’ll show those worms why they should’ve never come here!” shouted Regor in rage.
He unholstered his ack and brunt and went to confront them but stopped as he saw Tan still sitting on the table. Still looking at him with those glowing cyan eyes.
Just like that, all the rage he had had disappeared and had been replaced with pure worry.
“Change of plans. I need to get her out of here and fast.” he thought aloud.
Holstering his weapons and grabbing Tan he tuned back into his transmitter.
”All soldiers! Get those Tenno out of my facility. Grind them down with sheer numbers if you must!” he shouted.
He opened the lab door and began to run towards the ship bay, making sure to lock every door behind him.
…With the Tenno…
Kisa and her team had been given the mission to put an end to Tyl Regor.
The Lotus was adamant that Vay Hek’s ghoul project could not succeed.
Her team had brought their most compatible frames to this fight for they’d need the advantage.
Kisa had brought her Excalibur, the warframe she had first woken up with back when Captain Vor had tried to control her only a few years ago.
Turning the corner she came face to face with a crowd of six grineer.
”Tenno Skoom!” was all she heard before a rain of bullets came at her.
Diving back behind the corner she took her Braton and returned fire.
”I could use some help here guys!” She shouted at her team. The corner crumbling apart due to the constant shooting from the enemy.
Suddenly she heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall. She raised her rifle, ready to fight on, but lowered it as her teammate Hurk came rushing through with his Rhino.
”Get behind me! I’ll draw their fire!” He shouted before rounding the corner and unloading his Imperator Archgun.
Hiding behind Hurk and taking shots at the enemy in front of them she shouted “Where in the void are Seras and Kolt?!”.
”They’re heading to a data vault. We need to see if there’s anything useful in it!” Hurk shouted back.
“Understood! Let’s get to Regor!” Kisa replied.
They tore through the endless waves of grineer with Kisa picking off any that took cover and Hurk mowing down any that didn’t until Kisa received a transmission.
”Kisa! It’s Seras. I’ve accessed the data vault.”
”Make it quick Seras! We’re in a fight!” Kisa shouted while shooting a charging roller drone.
”There’s nothing here.”
”What do you mean there’s nothing there!” shouted Hurk.
”I mean there’s no data about the ghoul project. The only thing I’ve managed to find is something about a revivification hidden within the normal files. Designation is Tan-228. Must be a new type of soldier.” Seras explained.
“Then why haven’t we seen it?” asked Kisa.
“Let me get into the security feed.” Seras said.
”Make it quick Seras! I’m running out of ammo here.” shouted Hurk again.
”Guys get to the ship bay now! Regor is making a run for it!” warned Seras.
“Not on our watch! Come on Kisa!” Hurk yelled as he finished reloading his archgun.
”Right. Everyone converge on the ship bay. We can’t let him get away!” Kisa commanded.
…Back with Regor…
He was almost there. Just a bit more and he’d be in the clear.
Holding Tan as tight as he could, Tyl Regor kept running.
As he heard the fighting get closer he made the effort to make sure Tan was safe from any gunfire from behind by keeping her in front of him.
As he walked into the ship bay he used his Ack to break the security terminal, forcing the circular steel door to slam shut behind him.
”Hopefully that holds.” he said aloud and made his way to his ship.
It was a small bulbous ship modified from a troop carrier into a more personal vessel. Able to travel both underwater as well as in space.
As he climbed into the co*ckpit and shut the hatch, he placed Tan in the co pilot seat and buckled her in tightly.
He quickly got in the pilot seat and started the launch sequence before a loud crash echoed through the bay.
Looking up through the windshield his heart sank slightly as the four Tenno appeared before the now broken door and rushed towards him.
”Not today or ever you damn freaks!” he shouted.
Turning on the weapons he began to unleash hell against the four warriors. All the while moving the ship towards the exit.
Pushing the Tenno back with sheer ordinance, he inched his way towards the exit.
As the ship dropped into the water he immediately began to drive like a crondoc out of the void, eager to escape.
Up and up he went, first breaking through the surface of the ocean the through the stratosphere.
He kept flying at full speed until he was able to steady his breath.
Taking a quick look at all the ships camera feeds to make sure he wasnt followed, he finally breathed a sigh of releif.
”Ugh. That was too close. That traitorous Lotus! First chance i get i will tear her limb from bleeding limb!” He raged.
”Okay. Ive managed to escape. Now what? My facility was the most defended in the whole system and those damned Tenno tore right through it! Anywhere else wont be safe enough besides…”
The communicator rang, startling Regor out of his thoughts. Answering it, a rough female voice spoke.
”Tyl Regor. What has happened? Ive heard news that my cloning facility is now infested with those metal puppets. Care to explain?” the voice spoke.
”Yes. The Tenno came to assassinate me however i did manage to barely escape.” he aswered quickly.
”You were supposed to guard that facility with your pathetic life! It will take years of work to reclaim that facility and months of work to repair whatever damage those Tenno managed to cause.”
”I understand. I will personally lead the reclamation efforts.” he said, ashamed.
”Now onto a different matter. Whats this about a new soldier? A Tan-228?”
Regor sweat dropped. How did they find out? It didn't matter. He needed to make sure they don't choose to kill her.
”It was a product of the mission you gave me. I managed to regress eighty seven percent of the genetic degradation.” He lied.
”And what happened to them?”questioned the voice.
”I have them here with me. It is the reason i had to run in the first place.”
”Truly? Perfect! Bring them to me immediately! I wish to see them myself!”the voice commanded.
Tyl Regor looked towards Tan, still staring blankly back at him.
He had no other choice.
“At once…my queens…”
